BRIEF OF ASSAM RIFLES EX-SERVICEMEN ASSOCIATION
|

1. Assam Rifles Ex–Servicemen Association was est in Mar 1978 at Assam Rifles HQs
in Shillong. This is a purely Non - Govt Voluntary Org and all retd AR pers are
the members of this Association. ARESA Directorate has introduced certain schemes
to the welfare of their ex-servicemen in India and Nepal such as medical re-imbursement,
Financial assistance to hard luck cases, funeral grant, education assistance to
the children. 36 Assam Rifles Ex-Servicemen’s Association are functioning in India
and Nepal to look after the welfare of 85000 ex-servicemen.

Welfare Schemes to the Serving / Retired Personnel of CPFs
|
|
Following facilities to the serving / retired
personnel of CPFs including Assam Rifles have been sanctioned by the Government
of India, Ministry of Home Affairs:-
|
|
(a) CPF Canteen System. 111 CPOs Canteens are running across
the country. All the retired personnel
of CPFs incl Assam Rifles ESM are entitled for the Canteen facilities from these
Canteens on producing their Discharge Certificate.
(b)
Med Treatment to the serving / retired CPFs personnel / dependants through
CPFs Hospital. 19 Base / Composite Hosp
have been established in different part of the country.
Facility can be availed on producing Med Card issued by the Force concerned.
(c)
Allotment of MBBS and BDS Seats to the Wards of Serving / Retired
Para
Military Forces. 07
seats for MBBS and 01 seat for BDS have been allotted for Para Military Forces including
Assam Rifles on merit basis by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
(d)
Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme for Professional Courses. Prime Ministers Scholarship Scheme
has been introduced to the wards of retired JCOs / OR. Wards have at least 60% marks
in 10 +2 level and 50% marks in subsequent years.
Scholarship amount is Rs. 1250/- for boy and Rs. 1500/- pm for girl.
(e)
Welfare and Rehabilitation Board (WARB).
MHA has earmarked 29 State and 115 District Welfare and Rehabilitation
Board in the country to look after the welfare activities of retired CPFs personnel
(including Assam Rifles) and their dependants.
